Why did the colonies rebel against England
The colonies rebeld because they thought the Brittish was unfair. The colonies considerd themselves as Brittish citizens but were treated much worse then the people that lived in Great Britain. The second reason was taxes. As taxes kept on growing so did the people. The colonist could not change the growing taxes because they were not allowed to send representivs. Many Colonists thougt that this was a taxation without represention was an illegal oppression. In 1690 were there only 250 000 then in 1754 the population the number went up to 2 500 000, fueled by natural increase and poltical turmoil in Euroupe. Poor Scots-Irish immigrants settled in the wilderness of North Carolina and the Appalachian Mountains. Wealthier German immigrants fled war and religious persecution. They felt most welcome in Pennsylvania and pushed the frontier steadily westward.
