How did the Revolutionary War start and where?
The American Revolution began in Lexington on April 19, 1775. Over the course of the Revolutionary War, between 1775 and 1783, battles occurred in a variety of locations across Eastern North America, the Atlantic and the Caribbean. The war was almost a world war because when the war raged on in America. The French had the oppurtunity to reclaim India where the Brittish dominated. The French supported the colonists by giving them weapons. The revolutianary war had a series of naval operations by both the Brittish royal navy and the continental navy which was the Ameicans. Later on came the French navy taking advantage of the revolution and the spainards because the Brittish had supremacy in the sea. The Brittish were afraid that the French would attack Great Britain channels so the made concrete defense there leaving the troops in North America vunerble. In the caribbean was mainly over sugar and Spain and France taking their once islands back. The biggest and most important battles of the war was Lexington and concord, April 1775, Bunker Hill, June 1775. The Brittish costly won that battle. That was when the brittish knew that this would by a long war against the colonies. Quebec, December 1775. The Americans had won series of battles along the waterways from Lake Champlain into Canada, which ended in Quebec. But if Americans would have taken Quebec the war would have turned out differently. Charleston, June 1776 the brittish attacked Charleston but ended in failure. Trenton, December 1776. The Brittish dominated New York and New Jersey but the Americans won the battle of Trenton, followed by the 10 days of chaos. Saratoga, October 1777 This battle was the turning point for the Americans as Brittish soldiers surrenderd the French came in the war. Rhode Island, August 1778. This failed campaign of the Americans slowed their momentum and made the realize the war would not by over anytime soon even when the French were in the war.
